An AI math result with an important footnote

AlphaProof and AlphaGeometry 2 together solved four of six problems from the 2024 International Mathematical Olympiad, scoring 28 out of 42 points in DeepMind’s evaluation.

The result reached the silver-medal score range. It was not the same setup as a human competitor: problems were translated into formal language, and computation time varied.
